Thank you Rita! While labradoodles are adorable, many of them end up at the Humane Society because they are not as easy to train. Labradors are chewers – firniture, shoes, metal, rubber, clothing, toys – you name it. I’ve also read about health issues, given the way many are bread. I’d never have any other dog than a standard poodle! They are gentle and so smart, there’s no comparison!

Thank you for sharing your genuine love and much experience with this amazing breed!!! We, my 3 children and I are looking at the Standard poodle as our new addition to our family. I have 10 year old twin boys , one of whom has autism and believe, from what you said in your interview that these dogs will be amazing with our special needs family. I have been hooked on the idea of the Labradoodle , non-shedding and well known for their calm and tolerant nature, but NOW I have taken a step ‘up’ in a way, and believe that the Standard Poodle is THE ONE for our family. I especially love the “Flamekiss” photo as I have always loved the Red!

Excellent interview – I agree that poodles are incredibily empathetic – I have 2, a 17 month old and a 6 year old. They are absolutely wonderful dogs.
